This page will walk you through the necessary steps to seamlessly integrate the Smart Spam Detector into your Jira infrastructure. Following the outlined instructions, you can fully utilize this tool's potential and enhance your Jira experience by effectively managing and reducing spam content.

Here's how to enable the Smart Spam Detector in your Jira Service Project:

  1. Navigate to your Service Project page.

  2. Click on the 'Smart Spam Detector' option in the left navigation panel.

  3. Enable the feature by toggling the 'Spam detection' switch to 'On'.

Here's how to add the Jira post function

  1. Navigate to the 'Project Settings' of the selected project.

  2. Open the 'Workflows' tab.

  3. Click the 'Edit' icon in the issue workflow row.

  4. Select the transition between workflow steps where you want to activate spam detection. Using the transition that occurs immediately after an issue is created is recommended.

  5. Click the 'Add post function' link.

  6. Choose the 'Smart Spam Detector' post function from the list of Jira workflow functions, and click the 'Add' button.

  7. Publish the workflow draft

  8. Repeat these steps for all issue workflows that require spam filtering.

To add a custom created 'Spam' issue to your Jira Service Management project, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to your Jira Service Management project.

  2. Click on 'Project Settings' in the bottom left corner of the navigation menu.

  3. Click on 'Issue Types' in the side menu.

  4. In the 'Issue Types' section, click on the '+ Add Issue Type' button.

  5. In the 'Name' field, type in 'Spam'. You can also add a description if you wish.

  6. Click the 'Add' button to create your new issue type.

The new 'Spam' issue type is now integrated into your Jira Service Management project. If spam-like traits are detected in a request, the system will auto-switch the original issue type to 'Spam'.

To add the Spam Score field to the Issue screen, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the 'Issues' page in Jira Settings.

  2. Choose the 'Custom fields' option from the menu.

  3. Find and select the 'Spam Score' field.

  4. Click on the 'Associate to screens' button.

  5. Select the Issue screens from your Jira Service Projects where you have enabled Spam detection.

  6. Click the 'Add' button.

Now, the 'Spam Score' field will be visible on the Issue View page for newly created issues.

To enable the Issue Transition:

  1. Go to the chosen Service Management Project

  2. Select the ‘Settings’ in the Project navigation

  3. Go to the ‘Permissions’ menu

  4. Click ‘Actions’ > ‘Edit Permissions’

  5. Go to the ‘Transition Issues Permission

  6. Select ‘Update’ > ‘Application access’ >'Jira Software'

  7. Click the ‘Update’ button
