The Manage Hierarchies Page is used to manage and configure Hierarchies in a centralized way.

The following actions, depending on your permissions, can be available:

  • Create a Hierarchy

  • Apply a Hierarchy

  • Delete a Hierarchy

  • Duplicate (copy) a Hierarchy

  • View available Schedulers

  • View a Hierarchy Apply History

  • Select a Hierarchy to view a list of issues

  • Create a Hierarchy folder

  • Edit a Hierarchy folder

  • Delete a Hierarchy folder

  • Add a Hierarchy to a Folder

  • Remove a Hierarchy from a Folder

Select a Hierarchy to view a list of issues

The Hierarchy View page has detailed information about a selected Hierarchy: its name, description, schedulers, action buttons and a set of issues to be created upon Hierarchy usage. Also, the errors, if any, would be displayed in this area. In case there are any errors, the Hierarchy wouldn’t be available for usage (the Apply button would be disabled)

Apply a Hierarchy

Click the ‘Apply’ button in the ‘Actions’ column of the Hierarchy row.

Hover the mouse over the clock icon to see the list of available Hierarchy Schedulers for the Hierarchy:

Duplicate (Copy) Hierarchy

  1. Click the “Duplicate” button. Confirm the action in the dialog that will appear

  1. Wait till you see this message at the footer of the screen.

  2. A copy of the Hierarchy is created and can be found in the table.

Deleting Hierarchy

  1. Navigate to the Manage Hierarchies page

  2. Select a Hierarchy you’d like to delete

  1. Click Delete on the right side of the screen

All deleted hierarchies will be sent to the ‘Trash’ folder for the next 30 days

To see the Trash folder content click the bin icon at the top of the ‘Manage Hierarchies’ page:

Note

Deleted Hierarchies will be stored here for 30 days. After time pass they will be permanently deleted.

Here the Hierarchies list with the Nodes details for each is shown. The red badge near the Hierarchy Name shows the time remains to permanently delete.

Click the Restore button to move Hierarchy back to the ‘All’ folder and be able to use it again:

Click the bin icon to delete the selected Hierarchy from the Jira Instance permanently:

If you wish to share created Hierarchy, use the ‘Copy link' button:

After it, the link to the Hierarchy Details page will be copied to the clipboard and may be shared with teammates.

Hierarchy Folders

A new way to organize the Hierarchies is to place them into Hierarchy Folders.

Use the available themed Hierarchy folders - Productivity, Development, Organization or create your own.

All available Hierarchies still can be found in the ‘ALL’ system folder.

Create Folder

  1. Click the Add a Folder button

  1. Select the Folder Name and Icon and click the ‘Create’ button

Add Hierarchy to the Folder

To add a Hierarchy to one or a few folders click the Actions button in the Hierarchy row and select the Folders you want to add this Hierarchy to in the list.

Remove Hierarchy from the Folder

To remove a Hierarchy from one or a few folders click the Actions button in the Hierarchy row and deselect the Folders you don’t want to contain the current Hierarchy.

Edit Folder

  1. Click the ‘Edit’ button in the Hierarchy Folder you want to edit

  2. Change the Folder name or Logo in the ‘Edit Hierarchy folder’ dialog

  3. Click the ‘Update’ button to save changes

Delete Folder

  1. Click the ‘Edit’ button in the Hierarchy Folde section

  2. Select the Folder you want to delete

  3. Click the ‘Delete folder’ button to save changes

Note

Deleting the Hierarchy folder does not delete the Hierarchies placed in it - they still can be found in the ‘All’ Hierarchy folder

Hierarchy Apply History

View the history of the Applied with Hierarchy Jira Issues and its progress on the Apply History tab:

Click the ‘View applied’ button in the Hierarchy Row to see the list of Jira Issues created with the Hierarchy Nodes:

To go to the Hierarchy History select the Hierarchy and click the ‘View Applied History’ button:

The History record will be added once the page is refreshed after applying

On the History tab will be shown each Hierarchy Apply Record with the date, time, Node details, Issue progress, Last Activity time, and Issue Key:

After clicking the Issue Key link you will be redirected to the Jira Issue. The Progress and Status records will be changed once the status of the Original Jira issue is changed.

There is an ability to search records by date. Select the range in the ‘Date’ picker to view the Apply History records only for the selected time range.
