A Checklist is a powerful tool to not forget anything to do. The Smart Issue Templates Checklists can be added to the New Jira Issues, to the previously created Jira Issues, or be applied with Templates and Hierarchy Nodes.
Manage Checklists
Go to the Manage Checklists page to see all the available Checklists
Using this page, depending on your permissions, you can do the following actions with the Checklists:
Create Checklists
Edit Checklists
View the checklist owners, the date created, the user who modified the checklist, the date updated, and the number of applications
View the list of Issues Checklists are applied with
View the Time Tracking info
Apply the Checklist to the existing or new Jira issue
Delete the Checklist
Create Checklist
To create a checklist click the ‘Create Checklist’ button on the ‘Manage Checklists’ page
Click the Name field to name the Checklist
Add Checklist points with the Add Step button
With the additional menu the sub-steps can be added so there will be multi-level Checklists.
Once the Checklist is ready click the ‘Save’ button to save it
All created checklists will be shown on the ‘Manage Checklists' page
Time Tracking
The Checklists can be used as a Jira-integrated Time Tracking system. The time between the start and end of the Checklist execution and the time of each step execution will be recorded and then can be compared to the other Jira issues to which the following checklist is applied.
To activate the Time Tracking with the Checklist, enable the toggle on the Create\Edit Checklist dialog:
For the Time-tracking Checklists, there is an additional step needed - once it is applied user has to confirm the start and end of the work with the checklist manually:
Once the step of the Time-tracking Checklist is marked as done it cannot be changed by the user - only by the admin who can reset the Checklist or certain steps on the Manage Checklists page
To look through Time Tracking data click the ‘View applied checklists' button on the ‘Manage Checklists’ page:
There will be shown a table with the all data about Checklist execution time:
Also, there are results of the other executions of the current checklist in comparing available:
Start Time | Time of the start work. For the first step, it is the time of the confirming the start of the work on the checklist. For the next steps, it is a time the enabling the previous step checkbox |
Finish Time | Time the enabling (marking as done) the current Step checkbox |
Spent Time | Time spent on the execution of the steps |
KPI | Level of the time performance based on the comparing results of the other executions of the current checklist. |
Best Time | Percentage of the time performance based on the comparing results of the other executions of the current checklist. |
Avg Time | Average results of the time performance based on the comparing results of the other executions of the current checklist. |
Status | A checkbox that shows the status of the step (checked - Done). This value can be changed by the admin user. |
Apply Checklist with the Jira Issue
To apply created Checklist click the ‘Apply’ button in the Checklist row
In this way, the Checklist can be applied to the existing Jira Issue or to the new one, created here with the simplified dialog:
After it, a new Jira Issue will be created with the Checklist name. Open it and select the ‘Open SITC Checklist' option in the Issue Details section
There can be a few different checklists connected to the same Jira issue. Click the Checklist name to open the list of steps:
The ‘parent' Steps are checked automatically after all the 'child’ steps are marked as Done.

Apply Checklist with the Template
To add the Checklist to the Template click the Template name and select the Checklists in the following field:
Apply Checklist with the Hierarchy
To add the Checklist to the Hierarchy Node click the Node name in the Hierarchy builder (the Create\ Edit Hierarchy page) and select the Checklists in the following field:
Different Checklists can be applied to the different Hierarchy Nodes.
Edit Checklist
To Edit the Checklist, click its Name and change data the same way it was Created:
Delete Checklist
Click the bin icon in the Checklist row to delete Checklist.
