We are excited to introduce Link Templates, a powerful feature designed to enhance efficiency and streamline workflows in Jira. This new capability allows users to predefine and apply sets of links directly within their issue templates, improving consistency and saving time.

With Link Templates, you can:

βœ”οΈ Predefine reusable sets of links – Avoid repetitive manual entries by saving commonly used links.
βœ”οΈ Ensure consistency – Standardize links across multiple issues for improved organization.
βœ”οΈ Simplify issue creation – Automatically apply links when creating issues from templates.

  • Attach Confluence pages or company policies to onboarding templates.

πŸ› οΈHow It Works

πŸ“Œ 1. Creating a Link Template

To create a new Link Template:

1️⃣ Navigate to Smart Issue Templates β†’ Link Templates.
2️⃣ Click Add Link Template and enter a name and description.
3️⃣ Add multiple links (URLs and display text).
4️⃣ Click Create to save the template.

πŸ“Œ 2. Applying a Link Template to a Jira Template

Once you’ve created a Link Template, you can apply it to a Jira Template:

1️⃣ Open the Issue Template editor.

2️⃣ In the Template Settings, select the Link Template you want to apply.
3️⃣ Click Update to save changes.

When an issue is created using a template that includes a Link Template, the associated links will be displayed within the issue under Web Links.

Admins can control who can create, edit, delete, or apply Link Templates using permissions settings.

πŸ”Ή Admins can manage all Link Templates.
πŸ”Ή Users can apply Link Templates based on granted permissions.
πŸ”Ή Granular control allows setting visibility based on roles, groups, or individual users.

You can monitor the usage of Link Templates in the History Log and Statistics sections.
