Authentication

This manual provides instructions for establishing an integration between your organization's Atlassian Cloud instance and the Await Cortex platform. This integration enables the Await Cortex to access and extract data from your Jira projects and Confluence spaces, to transform it into structured knowledge bases. These knowledge bases will serve as the foundation for generating insightful responses to queries, tailored specifically to the content of your Jira projects and Confluence spaces.

Prerequisites

  • To establish the integration you will need an active Atlassian Cloud instance with Jira or/and Confluence.

  • Also you’ll need to generate an Atlassian API token before establishing the integration. To generate it, navigate to the Manage Account → Security → Create and manage API tokens or just by opening this LINK

  • Click the “Create API token“ button → Enter desired name and click the “Create“ button → Copy the generated token and save it for further use

Create Authentication

  1. Access Authentication Tab:

    • Navigate to the "Settings" page of the application.

    • Open the "Authentication" tab.

  2. Initiate New Authentication:

    • Click the "+ Add new" button to begin the process of creating a new integration.

  3. Enter Integration Details:

    • Name: Enter a name for this integration to easily identify it later.

    • Atlassian Cloud Instance URL: Provide the URL address of your Atlassian Cloud instance. For example: “company.atlassian.net”

    • Atlassian Email: Enter the email associated with your Atlassian Cloud account.

    • Atlassian API Token: Input the API token from your Atlassian account. (You can generate this token from your Atlassian account settings.)

  4. Create the Connection:

    • Click the "Create Connection" button after filling in all the details.

    • If the entered data is correct, a success dialog will confirm the establishment of the connection.

  5. Manage Authentication:

    • You can view the details, change the name or delete the authentication by hovering it over and selecting the corresponding action.

    • You can create multiple authentications for different Atlassian instances and/or accounts.

Post-Authentication Steps

  • Creating Knowledge Bases:

    • Once the authentication is successfully established, you can start creating knowledge bases based on your Jira projects and Confluence spaces on the “Knowledge Bases“ page.

  • Access Considerations:

    • Note that your access to certain projects or spaces to create knowledge bases will depend on the permission settings of your Atlassian account. Ensure you have the necessary permissions.
