History

The History page in Smart Issue Templates provides a complete log of actions performed on templates, scopes, hierarchies, variables, and link templates. It enables administrators to track changes, review updates, and manage logs efficiently.



Accessing the History Page

To view the action logs:

  1. Click Apps in the Jira navigation bar.

  2. Select Manage your apps.

  3. Find Smart Issue Templates in the left sidebar and click it.

  4. Click History in the sidebar.

The History page provides key details in a structured table format:

  • Creator – The user who performed the action.

  • Name – The affected template, scope, hierarchy, or link template.

  • Action – The type of action (Create, Update, Delete, Share Permissions, etc.).

  • Date & Time – When the action occurred.

  • View Details – Click the eye icon 🔍 to see more details about the action.

Filtering the History

To quickly find specific logs:

  1. Click the Filter button at the top of the page.

  2. Apply filters based on:

    • Date Range – Select a start and end date.

    • Creator – Search for actions performed by a specific user.

    • Action Type – Filter by Create, Update, Move to Trash, Restore, Changed Owner, etc.

  3. Click Apply Filters to refine your results.

Viewing Detailed Action Logs

To see more details about a specific action, click the eye icon 🔍 next to an entry.

For updates, you can:

  • Click Show Previous Value to compare old and new values.

  • View highlighted changes for quick reference.

Cleaning the History

Logs history usually is cleaned by itself after the storage is full - the old data will be rewritten by the new one. But there is a way to delete this data manually:

  1. Click the Clean Logs button

  2. Choose the data types you want to delete (Templates, Scopes, Hierarchies, Variables, Tags, Checklists, Link Templates).

  3. Click Delete to remove the selected logs permanently.
